Melaleuca quinquenervia oil
Niaouli is an evergreen tree, native to Australian continent and New Caledonia. Just like the tea tree, niaouli belongs to the Melaleuca family. This plant arrived to Europe in the 17th century, together with other members of this family, the tea tree and cajeput.
Niouli essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of leaves. It takes 70 kg of plant material to produce 1 kg of essential oil.
