Cypress is a wood from the Cupressaceae family. There are many species of the cypress tree, the most known is Cupressus sempervirens or mediterranean cypress. Throughout history this wood has been known to people as «the tree that lives forever» which is confirmed by its botanical name.
Cypress essential oil is obtained by the steam distillation of the twigs. The essential oil is light yellow in colour and rich in alphapinene (around 60%). It is needed around 80 kg of plant material to produce 1 kg of essential oil.
Cypress essential oil has a fresh, slightly evergreen aroma that refreshes, renews and tones. Support is during the cold season.
